Noghteh

A monochrome identity for Noghteh Design House explores how a restrained mark can move between print and space.

Noghteh

Noghteh is an independent design house built around clarity, intention and the belief that strong ideas begin from a focused point. Its work moves across identity, print, objects and space through a disciplined, contemporary design language.

Develop a restrained identity for a multidisciplinary design house that can change scale and material without depending on decorative elements.

Brand strategy, identity direction, modular logo refinement, visual system, editorial applications and environmental art direction.

Identity system, geometric toolkit, typography, stationery, publication design, presentation templates and spatial applications.

Restraint becomes useful when it survives different surfaces. The print and spatial studies show how one focused mark can stay present without relying on a dense decorative system.

What the work needed to connect

Develop a restrained identity for a multidisciplinary design house that can change scale and material without depending on decorative elements.

A point with physical presence

Noghteh’s identity begins with a restrained geometric mark. Paper, embossing and shadow give it physical presence, while generous space controls the composition. The applications show how small changes in scale alter its expression.

Testing restraint through a change of scale

Print studies establish the mark through paper, embossing and shadow. The spatial applications then increase the size of the same language, making material and scale the variables rather than adding another graphic style.

The identity enters a space

Charcoal fields and translucent banners extend the monochrome palette into spatial applications. Large surfaces frame the work, while smaller marks provide continuity. The same identity shifts between an object held nearby and a room viewed at a distance.

Restraint across different surfaces

A limited set of print and spatial studies tests the identity’s range. The mark stays consistent while material and scale change. This gives the presentation a common structure without relying on one repeated composition.

What I take from this direction

Restraint becomes useful when it survives different surfaces. The print and spatial studies show how one focused mark can stay present without relying on a dense decorative system.
